Menisci in a Diamond-Shaped Capillary

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2000
This paper presents a closed form analytical solution to the augmented Young-Laplace equation for the meniscus profile in a capillary formed between four equal-sized tangent cylinders centered on the vertices of a square. The solution is valid for a large class of disjoining pressure isotherms and contact angles. Copyright 2000 Academic Press.

The Menisci

2017
Meniscal tears are usually classified into twomain categories: traumatic and degenerative(non-traumatic). However, degenerative meniscallesions can be subdivided into primary degenerative meniscal lesions and meniscal lesions inosteoarthritic knees [1].Meniscal mucoid degeneration (MD) – a condition that has generally been ignored – is likelyto be ...

Resection of degenerate menisci — is it useful?

The Knee, 2000
Forty-three symptomatic patients, with a pre-operative MRI diagnosis of an isolated degenerate tear of the meniscus, treated by Arthroscopic resection were reviewed after a minimum follow up of 6 years post-surgery. Pre-operatively there was no clinical or radiological evidence of arthroses, but at surgery 65% of patients were noted to have varying ...

Vectograms to evaluate injuries of the menisci

Journal of Biomechanics, 1985
Clinical diagnosis of injuries at the menisci may not always give a satisfactory picture, and then remarkable interest has been oriented to refine technical aids to investigation.

Lateral discoid menisci in children

Arthroscopy, 1989
Abstract In children, the snapping‐knee syndrome is strongly suggestive of a diagnosis of discoid menisci; alternatively, the loss of physiological hyperextension of the knee suggests a diagnosis of a torn lateral discoid meniscus. We used arthroscopic meniscectomy to treat 19 lateral discoid menisci in 16 children (average age, 10.5 ...

Anomalous insertion of the medial menisci

Arthroscopy, 1998
Abstract Many types of meniscal anomalies have been reported. The authors encountered two cases of anomalous insertion of the anterior horn of the medial menisci to the lateral femoral condyle, which ran up along the course of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), but was independent of the ACL.

[Temporomandibular menisci].

Revue de stomatologie et de chirurgie maxillo-faciale, 1975
The temporo-mandibular meniscus is an anatomical structure which has been the subject of very little recent research. The usual macroscopic and dynamic tests were actually carried out on anatomical specimens taken from injected corpses whose anatomical structures were discoloured, stiff, hardened and unrecognizable, or from meniscectomy for ...

MR IMAGING OF THE KNEE MENISCI

Radiologic Clinics of North America, 1997
MR imaging of the knee is highly accurate for the noninvasive diagnosis of meniscal tears and other meniscal pathology. Familiarity with the normal anatomy and common pitfalls reduces errant interpretations, but does not eliminate them entirely. The two MR imaging signs of a meniscal tear are abnormal intrameniscal signal on a short-TE image that ...
