Temperature activation of electrical conductivity and self-healing in silicone rubber/graphite nanoplatelets composites [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The development of silicone rubber nanocomposite with electrical conductivity activated by temperature and self-healing capabilities has been reported. Silicon rubber (SR) filled with graphite nanoplatelets (GNPs) was synthesized via a liquid mixing method.

The muscarinic-cholinergic system as a target in the treatment of depressive or manic episodes in bipolar disorder: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesJournal of Affective Disorders Reports, 2021
Background: Increasing evidence has implicated the cholinergic system as a modulator of mood episodes, with possible involvement of nicotinic and/or muscarinic receptors.

Nickel assisted healing of defective graphene [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
The healing of graphene grown from a metallic substrate is investigated using tight-binding Monte Carlo simulations. At temperatures (ranging from 1000 to 2500 K), an isolated graphene sheet can anneal a large number of defects suggesting that their healing are thermally activated.

OAM-Assisted Self-Healing Is Directional, Proportional and Persistent [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper we demonstrate the postulated mechanism of self-healing specifically due to orbital-angular-momentum (OAM) in radio vortex beams having equal beam-widths. In previous work we experimentally demonstrated self-healing effects in OAM beams at 28 GHz and postulated a theoretical mechanism to account for them.
