By using GPS-derived velocities of 2015–2021 and a negative dislocation program, we inverted the locking degree and slip rate deficit in the Qilian–Haiyuan fault zone, and combined with the distribution of small earthquakes in the fault, we studied the ...

Abstract The 2025 Mw ${\mathrm{M}}_{\mathrm{w}}$ 7.1 Dingri earthquake is a large normal‐faulting event within the Southern Tibet Rift System. We use space‐borne radar interferometry to investigate both coseismic rupture and ∼3‐month early afterslip. Results show that this event ruptured a west‐dipping (48°) fault, exhibiting a predominant normal dip ...

Abstract Paleoseismic data on the timing of ground‐rupturing earthquakes can help identify the sources of historical earthquakes and define the extent of seismic rupture gaps. The Lijiang‐Xiaojinhe fault (LXF) is a left‐lateral strike‐slip fault that stretches 380 km along the southeastern margin of the Tibet Plateau, passing through the densely ...

Abstract Railway alignment design in earthquake‐prone regions faces many challenges, among which an active fault zone threat is a dominant factor. However, slight attention has been devoted in this field to the complex fault zone risks affecting alignment optimization (AO). To this end, the first‐known AO model that estimates active fault zone risks is

Abstract Although geodetic techniques like Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment have been widely applied to investigate terrestrial water storage (TWS) variations at regional or basin scales on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) caused by global warming, their coarse spatial has limited the study of individual lakes. In this study, we overcome this limitation

The Deformation Response of Hydrological Loading Due To Water Level Changes in Qinghai Lake
Abstract Over the past 18 years, the water level of Qinghai Lake has risen by more than 4 m, resulting in a total mass increase of approximately 22 Gt. This increase may have impacted the surface deformation and fault activity within a 100 km radius of the lake.

Progress and prospect of the time-varying gravity in earthquake prediction in the Chinese Mainland
This paper mainly introduces the application and progress of the time-varying gravity in earthquake research in the Chinese Mainland. Since the Xingtai earthquake in 1966, China has begun mobile gravity monitoring, trying to explore the relationship ...

Mechanism and Characteristics of Jishixiongguan Failure Induced by Jishishan MS6.2 Earthquake, China
On December 18, 2023, the Jishishan MS6.2 earthquake caused serious damage to Jishixiongguan, China, which is a rammed‐earth city wall, and was about 14 km away from the epicenter. There was a large area of collapse and part of the vertical ramming overlap separation phenomenon.
