Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...

A MXene‐enhanced electrochemical sensor enables the rapid and direct detection of methamphetamine. Molecular simulations reveal that specific MXene surface functional groups act as key signal amplifiers by facilitating interfacial interactions. The sensor demonstrates high sensitivity and robust performance in complex biological matrices.

Using a Double-Coil TMS Protocol to Assess Preparatory Inhibition Bilaterally
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) applied over the primary motor cortex (M1), elicits motor-evoked potentials (MEPs) in contralateral limb muscles which are valuable indicators of corticospinal excitability (CSE) at the time of stimulation. So far,

Assessing the Vulnerability to Land Degradation of (Not Only) Rural Landscapes Using the ESAI Index
Determining the vulnerability of land to degradation is a crucial factor enabling policy makers to take targeted actions. The main aim of this work was to determine vulnerability to land degradation using the Environmentally Sensitive Area Index (ESAI ...

Structural basis of adaptor-mediated protein degradation by the tail-specific PDZ-protease Prc
MepS is a peptidoglycan (PG) cross-link specific hydrolase needed for cell wall expansion and its cellular levels must be tightly regulated. Here the authors present the structure of the MepS degrading protease Prc bound to its adaptor NlpI and propose a

Most energetic passive states [PDF]
Passive states are defined as those states that do not allow for work extraction in a cyclic (unitary) process. Within the set of passive states, thermal states are the most stable ones: they maximize the entropy for a given energy, and similarly they ...
