Survival After Diagnosis of Cardiovascular Disease in Survivors of Adolescent and Young Adult Lymphoma

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cardiac dysfunction is a major morbidity among survivors of adolescent and young adult (AYA) lymphoma. Although high mortality after cardiovascular disease (CVD) diagnosis has been shown in other cancer survivor populations, this has not been investigated in a diverse population of survivors of AYA lymphoma.

Quantitative analysis of DNA‐GATA1 binding alterations linked to hematopoietic disorders

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Native holdup allows the quantitative determination of affinities between full‐length transcription factors and DNA. Mutations in either the protein or the DNA can modulate binding strength, which can be precisely quantified using this approach. Applied to GATA1, it revealed mutations that alter DNA binding.

Contrasting effects of different molecular crowding environments on base‐pair opening/closing dynamics of DNA triplex structures

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Base‐pair opening and closing regulate nucleic‐acid structure, stability, and function, but how these motions behave under intracellular molecular crowding remains unclear. Using NMR, we quantified these dynamics in a DNA triplex under two crowder‐reconstituted environments that mimic cellular crowding.

Mer

2013
Mer begins with a prologue in which the ten-year-old title character and her parents, who have renamed themselves River and Willow, are in Arctic Alaska. There they have an experience that impacts Mer so much she ends up walking away from them and into the Brooks Range, the northernmost mountain range in Alaska, alone.

The Structure of the mer Operon

1985
The DNA sequence has been determined for a 3.8-kb region which encodes the mercury-resistance (mer) operon of the IncFII plasmid NR1. The sequence reveals 4 open reading frames which could encode proteins of 12,522, 9,429, 14,965, and 58,912 d corresponding to the 4 previously described Hg-inducible proteins detected in minicells carrying mer+ plasmids.
