Transition‐Metal Azo Schiff Base Complexes: Nonlinear Optics Across Solutions, Thin Films and Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The excitation of a transition‐metal azo Schiff‐base complex with a 1064 nm laser induces a series of nonlinear optical effects. These effects include the second harmonic generation at 532 nm and third harmonic generation at 355 nm. This process demonstrates the potential of the complex for high‐order nonlinear optical applications. Abstract This paper

Overcoming the Short‐Wave Infrared Barrier in the Photoluminescence of Amino‐As‐Based InAs Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A novel reducing agent, trioctylamine‐alane (TOA‐AlH3), is reported for the synthesis of amino‐As‐based colloidal InAs quantum dots (QDs). The use of TOA‐AlH3 in an ad‐hoc seeded‐growth method with ZnCl2 as an additive delivers InAs QDs with narrow size distributions and excitonic absorption extending up to 1300 nm. ZnSe shelling leads to InAs@ZnSe QDs

Epitaxial Self‐Assembled Vertically Aligned Nanocomposite Photoelectrodes with Tunable Ambipolar Response

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Ambipolar photoelectrodes enable controlled switching between anodic and cathodic photocurrents in response to light and applied potential. This work demonstrates epitaxial self‐assembled vertically aligned NiTiO3–TiO2 nanocomposite thin films with tunable ambipolar behavior.

Resonance Energy Transfer and Purcell Effect in a Cu2O/Au Hybrid Optical Antenna

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A Cu2O nanosphere mediates efficient (e.g., 70%) resonance energy transfer (RET) to a gold substrate. The RET damping constant derived from single‐particle scattering, ΓRET$\left(\Gamma\right)_{R E T}$, identifies interband transitions in Au. RET also occurs from an excited electron‐hole pair in Au to the Cu2O/Au hybrid resonator mode, followed by ...
