Adjustment of Coatings Morphology and Particle Distribution of Layered Silicates by Freeze‐Drying for Improved Gas Barriers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Freeze‐drying of layered silicate is the key to get coatings with superior gas barrier. Freeze‐drying of layered silicates modified with dodecylamine (DDA) is a highly effective technique for the preparation of barrier pigments that significantly mitigate the permeation of oxygen, water vapor, and hydrogen through polymer films containing these ...

Advances on the relationship between mercury anomaly and seismicity and earthquake prediction efficiency

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评, 2021
Mercury is mainly from deep mantle rocks and magma in the Earth and has low solubility, low vapor pressure, and strong penetrating ability. Before earthquakes, mercury can pass through different media to reach the surface under high temperatures and ...

Early Parkes Observations of Planets and Cosmic Radio Sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We discuss early Parkes observations of the radio emission from the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Uranus. The sensitive Parkes 11 cm system was used to detect a surprisingly high observed nighttime temperature on Mercury, the first, but ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Mercury Content of Waters in the Midcontinent Region [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
Two major areas of the midcontinent region were investigated for their aqueous mercury concentrations. Sixteen surface water and 17 ground water samples were collected in an eleven county area of N.W. Arkansas, S.W. Missouri and N.E. Oklahoma (Ozark area)
