Librations and Obliquity of Mercury from the BepiColombo radio-science and camera experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A major goal of the BepiColombo mission to Mercury is the determination of the structure and state of Mercury's interior. Here the BepiColombo rotation experiment has been simulated in order to assess the ability to attain the mission goals and to help lay out a series of constraints on the experiment's possible progress.

Mesoporous Silica Microspheres by Super‐Fast Alkaline Etching of Micrometer‐Sized Stöber Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale silica particles are prepared along with a modified, scalable Stöber synthesis using the continuous addition of tetraethoxy silane to an ethanolic solution of ammonia with KCl. Etching with hydroxide ions at 95 °C gave porous analogs within minutes. Monodisperse particles are isolable in high yield after precipitation in ethanol.

Rapid Monitoring of Mercury in Air from an Organic Chemical Factory in China Using a Portable Mercury Analyzer

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2011
A chemical factory, using a production technology of acetaldehyde with mercury catalysis, was located southeast of Qingzhen City in Guizhou Province, China. Previous research showed heavy mercury pollution through an extensive downstream area.

Functional Role of the RNA-Binding Protein Rbm24a and Its Target sox2 in Microphthalmia

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2021
Congenital eye defects represent a large class of disorders affecting roughly 21 million children worldwide. Microphthalmia and anophthalmia are relatively common congenital defects, with approximately 20% of human cases caused by mutations in SOX2 ...

Terrestrial Planet Formation: Constraining the Formation of Mercury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The formation of the four terrestrial planets of the solar system is one of the most fundamental problems in the planetary sciences. However, the formation of Mercury remains poorly understood. We investigated terrestrial planet formation by performing 110 high-resolution N-body simulation runs using more than 100 embryos and 6000 disk planetesimals ...

A stereological study of the effects of mercury inhalation on the cerebellum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Mercury in the environment that arises from organic and inorganic sources can cause irreversible damage to the nervous system. Toxicity may be direct or may arise from interactions with other metals in the environment.

Facile Synthesis of CuxS Electrocatalysts for CO2 Conversion into Formate and Study of Relations Between Cu and S with the Selectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Copper sulfide based electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion are selective for production of formate as major product. Transformations under electrochemical conditions result in significant sulfur loss, and this study examines the nature of how persistent, residual sulfur (observed as surface SO42– species and S dissolved in the electrolyte) can sustain ...

Advances on the relationship between mercury anomaly and seismicity and earthquake prediction efficiency

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评, 2021
Mercury is mainly from deep mantle rocks and magma in the Earth and has low solubility, low vapor pressure, and strong penetrating ability. Before earthquakes, mercury can pass through different media to reach the surface under high temperatures and ...

A State-of-the-Science Review of Mercury Biomarkers in Human Populations Worldwide between 2000 and 2018

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 2018
Background: The Minamata Convention on Mercury provided a mandate for action against global mercury pollution. However, our knowledge of mercury exposures is limited because there are many regions and subpopulations with little or no data.

Digital Sphygmomanometer Based on Arduino Using TFT LCD Display [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Sphygmomanometer is a human blood pressure measuring device which has several types such as mercury, digital, and aneroid. At this time, mercury Sphygmomanometer is not allowed to be used anymore considering the side effects of mercury which can harm the
