Calibrated nanoinjections of mercury vapor
A simple technique for the calibration of mercury vapor chemosensors is described. It is based on a reductive deposition of a well-defined quantity of mercury (0) onto gold wire followed by thermal evaporation of the mercury into the sensor cell. The quantity of mercury on the gold wire was measured electrochemically by oxidation before and after ...

Adsorption of mercury vapor on particles
Environmental Science & Technology, 1986The adsorption of mercury vapor on particles was studied by using soot particles generated by incineration of sewage sludge (EP-ash) and activated carbon particles. Through the experiments, it was found that, at 298 K, the EP-ash has a fairly high adsorption capacity for mercury vapor in the order of 10/sup -6/g/g, which is between that of the ordinary

Mercury Vapor Determination in Hospitals
Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, 2005The measurements of metallic mercury vapor were carried out in seven local hospitals, where mercury-containing products are widely used, as well as in one residence to check effectiveness of decontamination after mercury spillage. Hopcalite as a solid sorbent was used in active and passive sampling methods, and mercury was analyzed by CV-AAS technique.

Microenvironmental exposure to mercury vapor
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1978Work area and breathing zone samples were collected in a factory utilizing metallic mercury and analyzed for mercury vapor content. Breathing zone samples averaged several fold higher in concentration than concurrent area samples, reflecting a "microenvironmental" exposure to mercury vapor, presumably from contaminated clothing and hands.

Radioactive Mercury in Mercury-Vapor Measurements
Journal of Applied Physics, 1943Radioactive mercury, Hg197, was prepared by deuteron bombardment of gold. This isotope was used as a tracer to establish an average concentration of 0.01 mg Hg per m3 of air in a particular industrial operation suspected of causing chronic mercurialism.
