Conformal Killing forms on Riemannian manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
Conformal Killing forms are a natural generalization of conformal vector fields on Riemannian manifolds. They are defined as sections in the kernel of a conformally invariant first order differential operator. We show the existence of conformal Killing forms on nearly Kaehler and weak G_2-manifolds.

Effect of tillage method on early root growth of Miscanthus

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
In‐situ, sub‐soil cameras were used to capture root growth and turnover during the establishment period for field‐grown Miscanthus planted with minimum tillage and no‐tillage methods. No tillage promoted higher root length density and thinner roots in the subsoil, providing potential for improved resource acquisition and soil carbon sequestration.

A Note on Computational Complexity of Kill-all Go [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Kill-all Go is a variant of Go in which Black tries to capture all white stones, while White tries to survive. We consider computational complexity of Kill-all Go with two rulesets, Chinese rules and Japanese rules. We prove that: (i) Kill-all Go with Chinese rules is PSPACE-hard, and (ii) Kill-all Go with Japanese rules is EXPTIME-complete.

“Laid to Rest in Australian Soil”: The Legacies of Repatriation Policy Change during the Vietnam War

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Politics &History, EarlyView.
For the first half of the twentieth century, Australia maintained a firm policy of non‐repatriation. Military personnel who died overseas were buried in vast military cemeteries administered by the Imperial (later Commonwealth) War Graves Commission. In 1966, however, the Australian government decreed that Australia's war dead could be repatriated, at ...

The aporetic dialogues of Modena on gender differences: Is it all about testosterone? EPISODE I: CRIME

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract This is the first episode of a series of four discussions on the differences between males and females, in apparently non‐andrological fields. You will read the transcript of discussions that actually took place at the Endocrinology Unit in Modena, Italy, in the form of the aporetic dialogues of ancient Greece.

Homothetic Killing Vectors in Expanding HH-Spaces with Lambda [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics, Vol. 10, No. 1 (2013) 1250077, 2011
Conformal Killing equations and their integrability conditions for expanding hyperheavenly spaces with Lambda in spinorial formalism are studied. It is shown that any conformal Killing vector reduces to homothetic or isometric Killing vector. Reduction of respective Killing equation to one master equation is presented.

ERNEST COST action overview on the (patho)physiology of GPCRs and orphan GPCRs in the nervous system

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) are a large family of cell surface receptors that play a critical role in nervous system function by transmitting signals between cells and their environment. They are involved in many, if not all, nervous system processes, and their dysfunction has been linked to various neurological disorders representing important

‘I Wouldn't Be Here Without Them’: An Explorative Study of Workplace Friendships and Well‐Being in Child and Family Social Workers

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Friendships can offer significant benefits, particularly in the challenging field of statutory social work, which is often characterised by high caseloads, limited resources and frequent exposure to trauma. However, the recent focus on how we can better promote the well‐being and job satisfaction of UK social workers, and relatedly, promote a ...
