Gender &History, Volume 38, Issue 3, Page 859-869, October 2026.ABSTRACT As Australia's wool industry produced vast amounts of fine fleece from the nineteenth century, the wool processing and clothes manufacturing industries generated waste – products like cuttings, combings, fettlings and flock. Salvaged and then sold to waste merchants, these and other materials had a second life.

Scientific ReportsDuring the scouring of sheep wool in an ultrasonic bath without detergents at a frequency of 38 kHz, the effect of sheep breed on scouring efficiency was investigated at temperatures of 20 °C and 40 °C.
