CNGCs in Marchantia paleacea uncouple arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis and rhizoid development

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Rhizoid growth and AM fungal infection are uncoupled. Summary In Marchantia paleacea, MpaDMI1‐dependent nuclear Ca2+ oscillations are essential for arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal colonisation, indicating that endosymbiosis‐mediated nuclear Ca2+ signalling is a conserved feature of land plant–AM symbiosis.

EMF2 deficiency disrupts epigenetic and chromatin organization landscapes, blocking root regeneration competence in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
EMF2 mutation alters transcriptomic profiles in Arabidopsis calli while retaining responsiveness during root induction. Summary Plant de novo organogenesis depends on callus formation, yet the epigenetic mechanisms governing organ regeneration remain poorly understood.

Cell signaling within the shoot meristem

open access: yes, 2000
Shoot apical meristems are self-renewing stem cell populations that generate all of the above-ground organs (i.e. stems, leaves and flowers) of higher plants.

MtGRF8 interacts with MtSymCRK and prevents early bacteroid death during Medicago – Sinorhizobium symbiosis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
MtSymCRK–MtGRF8‐14‐3‐3a, e, h and i functional model in R‐108 nodules. Summary In Medicago littoralis R‐108, Symbiotic CYSTEINE‐RICH RECEPTOR‐LIKE KINASE (MtSymCRK) is required to prevent defense reactions in symbiotic nodules during chronic infection.

The molecular regulation of axillary bud fate determination and outgrowth into branch crown in strawberry involves BRC1

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Proposed regulatory model for the axillary bud (AXB) fate determination of outgrowth into stolon and branch crown (BC) in strawberry. Summary In strawberry, the axillary bud (AXB) can produce either an elongated stem called stolon giving a daughter‐plant (asexual reproduction) or an inflorescence‐bearing branch crown (BC; sexual reproduction).

The YPEL gene CELL DIVISION SUPPRESSOR negatively regulates cell division in plants

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior
The CELL DIVISION SUPPRESSOR (CDS) gene encodes a conserved YPEL-family zinc-finger protein whose biological role in plants has remained largely uncharacterized. Here, we characterized the Arabidopsis CDS gene and demonstrated that its protein contains a

Spatiotemporal Metabolome and Single‐Nucleus Transcriptome Integration Illuminates an Auxin Gradient Orchestrated by NtTAC1 Underlying Leaf Angle Regulation in Tobacco

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Proposed model of TAC1‐mediated leaf angle regulation in tobacco. ABSTRACT Plant architecture is key to crop yield, with leaf angle being critical for high‐density cultivation. Although TAC1 represents a promising regulator of leaf angle for breeding, its molecular mechanism remains poorly understood, particularly at single‐nucleus resolution. Here, we

THE KEY ROLE OF PIN PROTEINS IN AUXIN TRANSPORT IN ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA ROOTS

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2015
The phytohormone auxin is the key factor in plant morphogenesis. Being unevenly distributed in plant tissues, it forms gradients and concentration maxim а, according to which cells grow, divide, and differentiate. The family of PIN-FORMED (PIN) proteins,

A Modified Cas9 Scaffold Allows Extension of the Virus‐Induced Gene Editing Technology to the Large Potyvirus Genus

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant viruses are recognized as rapid and effective vectors to deliver CRISPR‐Cas reaction components into plants, a strategy termed virus‐induced gene editing (VIGE). However, VIGE is limited by the host range of the viral vectors. Development of new viral vectors to target a broad range of plant species will potentially enable the delivery ...
