Lowest triplet state of a simple merocyanine dye
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1974The lowest triplet state of 3-ethyl-5-(1,3-dithiolanylidene)-rhodanine has been studied in solution and in single crystals at liquid helium temperatures. This state is tentatively assigned as a ππ* state. The origin in single crystals is composed of two lines separated by 0.6 cm−1. The technique of making EL structures based on this dye is developed. Dyes and Pigments, 2020Abstract Substituted merocyanine dyes were obtained by Knoevenagel condensation between formylated arylbenzothiazole and quaternary 2-alkylbenzothiazoles. The condensations were performed in the presence of sodium methoxide and the products were obtained with excellent yields after simple purification.
