Investigating Mitochondrial Viscosity in Ferroptosis‐Mediated Drug‐Induced Liver Injury using a Double‐Targeted Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing a mitochondrial double‐targeted strategy, a novel near‐infrared fluorescent probe (FTZ‐2) is established for monitoring viscosity variations in ferroptosis‐mediated drug‐induced liver injury. In summary, this work provided a practical strategy for the early diagnosis and evaluation of liver injury.

Textiles screen-printed with photochromic ethyl cellulose-spirooxazine composite nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Photochromic compounds change colour on exposure to light, while the reversion may be attributable either to radiation or may be thermal. The use of photochromism on fabrics can provide new opportunities to develop smart textiles; for example, sensors ...

Induced‐Fit Recognition by a Calixarene–Pyrene Conjugate for Single‐ and Dual‐Wavelength Fluorescence Sensing in Water

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A sulfonatocalix[4]arene–pyrene conjugate functions as a fluorescence chemosensor for the optical detection of biorelevant analytes in water. Its photoinduced electron transfer (PET) response is triggered by an induced‐fit recognition mechanism. Noncovalent assembly with an additional dye affords dual‐color ratiometric signaling via competitive PET ...

Spiropyran polymeric microcapillary coatings for photodetection of solvent polarity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Fused silica micro-capillaries were functionalised with spiropyran-polymer brushes using surface-initiated ring-opening metathesis polymerisation. Based on the inherited spiropyran properties, the functionalised capillaries were successfully used to ...

Hydrogels Incorporating Donor–Acceptor Stenhouse Adducts as a Platform for Photoinduced, On‐Off Switchable Release of Small Molecule Cargos

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Donor–acceptor Stenhouse aDdducts (DASAs) are known for their photoinduced tautomerization, which, when conjugated to block copolymers, can self‐assemble into tuneable polymersomes. These DASA‐polymersomes are being investigated for light‐controlled cargo release in biomedical applications.

Exploring New Chemical Paths in Quantum AI: Preliminary Accomplishments and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
Two new strategies derived from Chemical AI to promote the advancement of sustainable quantum technologies are presented and discussed. The first strategy relies on the chemical implementation of molecular fuzzy sets, which are quantum mixed states associated with chemical microheterogeneous systems. The second strategy relies on photochromic compounds

Practical Broad-Band Tuning of Dye Lasers by Solvent Shifting [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
We have operated a dye laser over a broad wavelength range (593.8-667.0nm) by shifting the dye emission profile with incremental changes of solvent composition. This was accomplished with the laser operating continuously, and only minor adjustment of the

Mechanochromic Organic Materials: Molecular Mechanisms and Multidimensional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
Mechanochromic (MC) organic materials change color in response to mechanical force. This review elucidates the molecular mechanisms (e.g., aggregation‐induced emission, AIE) and explores their multidimensional applications in sensors, anti‐counterfeiting, biomedical devices, and structural health monitoring, providing a roadmap for future smart ...
