Spatial heterogeneity of hotspot mutations and clonal relatedness in ovarian endometrioid carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatially resolved analysis revealed heterogeneous distributions of selected cancer‐associated mutations within ovarian endometrioid carcinomas. Shared mutations between paired endometrial and ovarian tumors supported clonal relatedness. These findings highlight the value of sampling multiple tumor regions when interpreting molecular profiles ...

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Acute gastrointestinal hemorrhage as the sole initial manifestation of gastric leiomyosarcoma: a case report highlighting the discrepancy between preoperative assessment and final pathology

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Gastric leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is an exceedingly rare mesenchymal malignancy, and its presentation with acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage is poorly documented.

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Male Mammary Myofibroblastoma Masquerading as Malignancy

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Breast Health
We report a case of myofibroblastoma (MFB) of the breast in a 58-year-old man who presented with a large painless lump in the left breast. Radiologic breast imaging showed a well-circumscribed mass with no microcalcifications.

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Cellular Angiofibroma of the Prostate

open access: yesIJU Case Reports
Introduction Cellular angiofibroma is a rare, benign mesenchymal tumor that affects middle‐aged adults. It most frequently arises in the vulvovaginal or inguinoscrotal region. It is characterized by a slow clinical progression with no known potential for
