The Roadmap of the Spleen: A Meta‐Analysis of Morphometric and Vascular Anatomy

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims This systematic review aims to consolidate anatomical data on the spleen and its vasculature to aid in surgical planning and improve the understanding of splenic variability. The main research goal is to summarize reported ranges and pooled estimates for splenic dimensions and to map the common patterns and variations in ...

White Adipose Tissue Browning and Cross Talk With Metabolic Diseases and Tumors: From Molecular Mechanisms to Clinical Translation

open access: yesMed Research, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 280-308, June 2026.
White adipose tissue undergoes browning under endogenous and exogenous stimuli, primarily regulated by core molecules such as PRDM16 and UCP1. It exhibits a double‐edged sword effect in metabolic diseases and tumors: while mitigating metabolic disease impacts and suppressing early‐stage tumors through nutritional competition, it may accelerate cachexia

Nanjing Consensus II on Washed Microbiota Transplantation: Statements From the CHINAGUT Conference

open access: yesMicrobiota Medicine Research, Volume 1, Issue 2, Page 45-62, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The new method of fecal microbiota transplantation, based on automatic facilities and washing processes, was coined as washed microbiota transplantation (WMT). The first recommendations on WMT were released as Nanjing Consensus report by the fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT)‐standardization Study Group in 2019.

Chinese Registry on Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunts (CN‐TIPS): Protocol for a Registry‐Based, Prospective Prognostic Study

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 160-169, June 2026.
CN‐TIPS is a nationwide, multicenter prospective registry that will enroll 10,000 adults with portal hypertension undergoing transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt in China, integrating perioperative clinical and hemodynamic metrics with standardized imaging (including computational modeling in a dedicated subcohort) and multi‐omics biospecimens,

Anatomical variants of the hepatic arteries and their influence on superior mesenteric artery hemodynamics.

open access: yes, 2011
Anatomical variants of hepatic arteries are frequent. One of the most common origins of aberrant (atypically branching) hepatic arteries is superior mesenteric artery.

Variations in the origin and colic branches of the superior mesenteric artery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A study was done in 50 superior mesenteric arteries for finding its different pattern of origin and colic branches. The observatory findings are more or less coinciding with that of the observations of the eminent scientists in the field. The following

Prospective comparison of diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound, PET/CT and DW‐MRI for preoperative assessment of pelvic lymph nodes in cervical cancer patients: results of the CANNES trial

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 67, Issue 6, Page 836-851, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether ultrasound is non‐inferior to positron‐emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW‐MRI) in terms of overall diagnostic accuracy for the preoperative assessment of pelvic lymph‐node status in cervical cancer.

Thrombospondin‐4 is upregulated in abdominal aortic aneurysm: A vasoprotective response with potential therapeutic relevance

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 12, Page 3321-3339, June 2026.
TSP4 is upregulated in human and experimental AAA. TSP4 knockdown accelerated AAA formation and exacerbated both vascular inflammation and remodelling, emphasizing that TSP4 upregulation may represent a protective response against AAA. Our findings suggest that preserving TSP4 could be a useful strategy in the clinical management of AAA.
