Salmonella in the mesenteric lymph nodes of healthy pigs
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1949Of 503 healthy pigs the mesenteric lymph nodes as well as the feces were examined as to the presence ofSalmonella. In 14 animals (2.78%) the presence of these bacteria in the lymph nodes was established. The testing of all of the samples of feces gave negative results. The following types ofSalmonella were found:S. typhi murium (7 ×),S.

Asbestos fibers in para‐aortic and mesenteric lymph nodes
American Journal of Industrial Medicine, 2009AbstractBackgroundAsbestos fibers are known to accumulate in lung parenchyma and thoracic lymph nodes, but their presence and translocation into the extrapulmonary tissues need clarification. We assessed the presence of asbestos in the para‐aortic (PA) and mesenteric (ME) lymph nodes.MethodsPA and ME lymph nodes and lung tissue from 17 persons who ...

Mesenteric lymph nodes: cells with surface and sytoplasmic immunoglobulins
Virchows Archiv B Cell Pathology Including Molecular Pathology, 1984The distribution and morphology of cells with surface and cytoplasmic immunoglobulins were investigated in mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN) from rats, using both frozen and (fixed) paraffin sections, with a two-step immunoperoxidase technique. Anti-IgA, -IgE, -IgG and -IgM sera were used.

Fructose-2,6-bisphosphate in rat mesenteric lymph nodes
International Journal of Biochemistry, 19881. The fructose-2,6-bisphosphate (Fru-2,6-P2) content of mesenteric lymph nodes was measured in rats. 2. The effects of Fru-2,6-P2 on the activity of 6-phosphofructo-1-kinase (PFK-1) from rat mesenteric lymph nodes were also studied. 3. The affinity of the enzyme for fructose-6-phosphate was increased by Fru-2,6-P2 whereas the inhibition of the enzyme ...

Salmonella in the mesenteric lymph nodes of healthy sows and hogs
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1982SUMMARY Mesenteric lymph nodes were collected from healthy sow and slaughter hogs that had been kept in holding pens for an average of 10 and 2 days, respectively, before slaughter at an abattoir. Salmonella was isolated from 58.2% (67/115) of the sows and 31.3% (16/51) of the slaughter hogs. This difference in Salmonella prevalence was significant (X2
