Association Between the Degree of Arterial Contact Angle and Survival in Patients With Borderline Resectable Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the prognostic impact of arterial contact angle in patients with borderline resectable pancreatic cancer undergoing neoadjuvant therapy and surgery. An arterial contact angle of ≥ 90° was associated with higher R1 resection rates and worse survival outcomes.

Patient‐Reported Outcomes and Surgical Results of Hand‐Sewn Versus Stapled Anastomosis for Lower Rectal Cancer Located 4–5 cm From the Anal Verge: A Subanalysis of the Ultimate Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Preserving anorectal function while ensuring oncological success is critical in lower rectal cancer surgery. This multicenter prospective study compared hand‐sewn and stapled anastomosis in 135 patients with tumors 4–5 cm from the anal verge. Impact of Tumor Location on the Efficacy of Lateral and Mesenteric Lymph Node Dissection in Patients With Rectal Cancer Treated by Upfront Surgery

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study examined the impact of tumor location on lymph node metastasis (LNM) patterns and the efficacy of lymph node dissection in rectal cancer. Analyzing 882 patients who underwent total mesorectal excision with lateral lymph node dissection, we found that mesenteric LNM rates were higher in tumors located more orally, whereas lateral LNM rates ...
