Mesenteric panniculitis.

Mesenteric panniculitis is a non-neoplastic inflammatory process affecting the adipose tissue of the mesentery. It is an extremely rare disease. We report the case of a 30-year-old man with mesenteric panniculitis and describe the radiologic findings.

Mesenteric panniculitis also named retractile mesenterite is a rare tumor-like lesion that thickens and shortens the mesentery. It is characterized by the association of inflammation, necrosis or fibrosis involving the adipose tissue of the bowel mesentery.
