Robotic total gastrectomy with intracorporeal robot-sewn anastomosis. A novel approach adopting the double-loop reconstruction method [PDF]
Gastric cancer constitutes a major health problem. Robotic surgery has been progressively developed in this field. Although the feasibility of robotic procedures has been demonstrated, there are unresolved aspects being debated, including the ...

This study identifies vacuole membrane protein 1 (VMP1) as a critical regulator of intestinal epithelial barrier homeostasis. VMP1 facilitates the recruitment of CORO1C to late endosomes, supporting Retromer‐mediated recycling of the tight junction protein Occludin.

Observation of mesenteric microcirculatory disturbance in rat by laser oblique scanning optical microscopy [PDF]
Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury model has been widely applied to the study of microcirculation disturbance. In this work, we used laser oblique scanning optical microscopy (LOSOM) to observe the microcirculation system in the mesentery of rat model ...

Glucuronolactone (GLU) as a natural metabolite of glucose, increases Lactobacillus amylovorus abundance and luminal IAA level to activate AHR signaling. In addition, GLU itself can directly elevate AHR signaling activity independently of microbiota and IAA.

Giant pancreatic lymphangioma with mesenteric extension – A case report
Cystic lymphangioma of the pancreas is uncommon entity. Complete excision is necessary to prevent recurrence. We present huge multicystic pancreatic lymphangioma extending beyond the pancreatic margin into the mesentery causing displacement of bowel ...

Platelet kinetics in the pulmonary microcirculation in vivo assessed by intravital microscopy [PDF]
Growing evidence supports the substantial pathophysiological impact of platelets on the development of acute lung injury. Methods for studying these cellular mechanisms in vivo are not present yet.

ABSTRACT Background To mitigate the progression of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD), appropriate drain management is required, and exchanging drainage tubes is commonly performed. However, the optimal timing of the first drain exchange has not yet been determined.

Levels of feline infectious peritonitis virus in blood, effusions, and various tissues and the role of lymphopenia in disease outcome following experimental infection. [PDF]
Twenty specific pathogen free cats were experimentally infected with a virulent cat-passaged type I field strain of FIPV. Eighteen cats succumbed within 2-4 weeks to effusive abdominal FIP, one survived for 6 weeks, and one seroconverted without outward ...

Central pancreatectomy (CP) better preserves postoperative pancreatic endocrine function than distal pancreatectomy for benign or low‐grade malignant tumors. The 75‐g oral glucose tolerance test demonstrated that CP maintained insulin secretion and glucose tolerance, highlighting its clinical advantage as a function‐preserving procedure.
