A Model Simplification Algorithm for 3D Reconstruction

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Mesh simplification is an effective way to solve the contradiction between 3D models and limited transmission bandwidth and smooth model rendering. The existing mesh simplification algorithms usually have problems of texture distortion, deformation of ...

Dynamic Reconstruction and Mesh Compression of 4D Volumetric Model Using Correspondence-Based Deformation for Streaming Service

open access: yesSensors, 2022
A sequence of 3D models generated using volumetric capture has the advantage of retaining the characteristics of dynamic objects and scenes. However, in volumetric data, since 3D mesh and texture are synthesized for every frame, the mesh of every frame ...

A fast and robust patient specific Finite Element mesh registration technique: application to 60 clinical cases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Finite Element mesh generation remains an important issue for patient specific biomechanical modeling. While some techniques make automatic mesh generation possible, in most cases, manual mesh generation is preferred for better control over the sub ...

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Experimental Validation of Clamping-Type Mesh Fastening Method Using Thin Plates and Push-Button Rivets for Deployable Mesh Antennas

open access: yesAerospace
Deployable mesh antennas offer advantages such as high gain, ultra-light weight, and high packaging efficiency. However, the mesh that constitutes the reflection surface is prone to deformation due to its low stiffness, which directly affects the ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.
