Investigation of Rotor Tip Vortex in Hover Based on IDDES Methods
A calculation and analysis program of high-precision numerical simulation for rotor blade tip vortex in hovering state was developed. The fifth order Roe-WENO scheme was carried out in order to reduce the numerical dissipation of the rotor wake region ...

Mesh cutting algorithm for use in an orthopaedic surgery simulator [PDF]
In order to develop a podiatric orthopaedic training simulator the obstacle of simulating podiatric bone surgery must be overcome. In order to simulate this surgery appropriately, it is necessary to be able to cut through a virtual representation of a ...

Meshes are ubiquitous in computer science, they define the geometry of the virtual representations of objects and permit to study the physical properties of their real world counterparts. In engineering, meshes have a key role in most scientific computation methods and are a prerequisite to reliable and efficient numerical simulations.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.
