Discrete Mesh Optimization on GPU
International Meshing Roundtable Conference, 2019We present an algorithm called discrete mesh optimization (DMO), a greedy approach to topology-consistent mesh quality improvement. The method requires a quality metric for all element types that appear in a given mesh. It is easily adaptable to any mesh and metric as it does not rely on differentiable functions.

Applied Mathematical Modelling, 2022
We propose a new framework for the two- and three-dimensional topology optimization (TO) of the weakly-coupled fluid–structure system. The proposed design methodology uses a reaction–diffusion equation (RDE) for updating the level-set function based on ...

Optimal Coarsening of Unstructured Meshes
Journal of Algorithms, 1999Summary: A bounded aspect-ratio coarsening sequence of an unstructured mesh \(M_0\) is a sequence of meshes \(M_1,\dots, M_k\) such that: \(M_i\) is bounded aspect-ratio mesh, and \(M_i\) is an approximation of \(M_{i-1}\) that has fewer elements, where a mesh is called a bounded aspect-ratio mesh if all its elements are of bounded aspect-ratio.

Polygonal surface mesh optimization
Engineering with Computers, 2004A procedure has been developed to improve polygonal surface mesh quality while maintaining the essential characteristics of the discrete surface. The surface characteristics are preserved by repositioning mesh vertices so that they remain on the original discrete surface.

Proceedings. International Test Conference 1990, 2002
Efficient testing techniques for two-dimensional mesh interconnection networks are presented. The tests cover faults in the data paths and the control circuitry, including faults in the arbitration logic of the switches. Testing for the resolution of the conflicts is important for ensuring the correct functioning of the interconnection network, since a

Streaming tetrahedral mesh optimization
Proceedings of the 2008 ACM symposium on Solid and physical modeling, 2008Improving the quality of tetrahedral meshes is an important operation in many scientific computing applications. Meshes with badly shaped elements impact both the accuracy and convergence of scientific applications. State-of-the-art mesh improvement techniques rely on sophisticated numerical optimization methods such as feasible Newton or conjugate ...
