Quality multi-domain meshing for volumetric data [PDF]

open access: yes2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics, 2010
Multi-domain meshing from volumetric data is of great importance in many fields like medicine, biology and geology. This paper proposes a new approach to produce a high quality mesh with separated multiple domains. A point cloud is generated from a preliminary mesh representing the boundary between different domains from the discrete volumetric ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The whole mesh Deformation Model for 2D and 3D image segmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we present a novel approach for image segmentation using Active Nets and Active Volumes. Those solutions are based on the Deformable Models, with slight difference in the method for describing the shapes of interests - instead of using a ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Anisotropic Mesh Adaptation for Image Representation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Triangular meshes have gained much interest in image representation and have been widely used in image processing. This paper introduces a framework of anisotropic mesh adaptation (AMA) methods to image representation and proposes a GPRAMA method that is
