Guaranteed-Quality Triangular Meshes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
There are a number of applications for which it is desirable to divide a given region in the plane into nicely shaped triangles. One important such application is the finite element method, a method widely used to obtain approximate solutions to a wide variety of engineering problems.

Quality Partitioned Meshing of Multi-material Objects

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2015
We present a simple but effective algorithm for generating topologically and geometrically consistent quality triangular surface meshing of compactly packed multiple heterogeneous domains in [Formula: see text]. By compact packing we imply that adjacent homogeneous domains or materials share some 0, 1, and/or 2 dimensional boundary.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Relationship Between Structured Mesh Quality and Error of Difference Scheme

open access: yes气体物理
The human resources and work time required for mesh generation are relatively high in the overall numerical simulation cycle of a flow field and represent a bottleneck in computational fluid dynamics applications.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

3D mesh refinement procedure using the bisection and rivara algorithms with mesh quality assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Mesh refinement procedures for the solution of three dimensional problems are described. The computational\ud domain is represented by an assembly of tetrahedral elements and the mesh refinement is acheived by the bisection\ud and Rivara methods using an

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Gelatinization Characteristics of Rice Flour with Different Varieties and Particle Sizes and Their Effects on the Quality of Rice Cakes

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
In order to study the effect of different varieties and particle sizes of rice flour on the quality of rice cakes, three varieties of japonica rice, indica rice and glutinous rice were selected to prepare 80, 100, 120 and 140 mesh rice flour respectively.
