Quality-Aware Routing Metrics for Time-Varying Wireless Mesh Networks
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2006This paper considers the problem of selecting good paths in a wireless mesh network. It is well-known that picking the path with the smallest number of hops between two nodes often leads to poor performance, because such paths tend to use links that could have marginal quality.

Evaluating Hex‐mesh Quality Metrics via Correlation Analysis
Computer Graphics Forum, 2017AbstractHexahedral (hex‐) meshes are important for solving partial differential equations (PDEs) in applications of scientific computing and mechanical engineering. Many methods have been proposed aiming to generate hex‐meshes with high scaled Jacobians. While it is well established that a hex‐mesh should be inversion‐free (i.e.

Mesh Visual Quality Assessment Metrics: A Comparison Study
2017 13th International Conference on Signal-Image Technology & Internet-Based Systems (SITIS), 20173D graphics technologies have known a developed progress in the last years, and several processing operations can be applied on 3D meshes such as watermarking, compression, simplification and so forth. Mesh visual quality assessment becomes an important issue to evaluate the visual appearance of the 3D shape after specific modifications.

Advances in Mesh Optimisation Based on Algebraic Quality Metrics
2009In this work we focus our attention on two aspects related to node movement in surface meshes: smoothing of triangular meshes defined on surfaces and the adaption of these meshes to match given curves or contours. The improvement in quality of the mesh is obtained by an iterative process in which each node mesh is moved to a new position that minimises ...

Smoothing Algorithm for Tetrahedral Meshes by Error-Based Quality Metric
2010 International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering, 2010Smoothing or geometrical optimization is one of basic procedures to improve the quality of mesh. This paper first introduces an error-based mesh quality metric based on the concept of optimal Delaunay triangulations, and then examines the smoothing scheme which minimizes the interpolation error among all triangulations with the same number of vertices.
