LPBT: An energy-aware link quality metric for Wireless Mesh Networks
2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have generated a lot of enthusiasm over the last decade or so, both in research and implementations. However, they are yet to reach their full potential and deliver on the promise of ubiquitous high-speed Internet access, due to a number of real world limitations.

A Curvature-Tensor-Based Perceptual Quality Metric for 3D Triangular Meshes
Machine Graphics and Vision, 2014Perceptual quality assessment of 3D triangular meshes is crucial for a variety of applications. In this paper, we present a new objective metric for assessing the visual difference between a reference triangular mesh and its distorted version produced by lossy operations, such as noise addition, simplification, compression and watermarking.

Channel quality and utilization metric for interference estimation in Wireless Mesh Networks
Computers & Electrical Engineering, 2017Abstract Wireless Mesh Networks have emerged as an architectural shift from traditional wireless networks for providing ubiquitous coverage. The mesh routers equipped with multiple 802.11 commodity network cards provide high throughput by maximizing the simultaneous transmissions on multiple channels.

An Interference and Link-Quality Aware Routing Metric for Wireless Mesh Networks
2008 IEEE 68th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2008This paper presents the expected link performance (ELP) metric for finding high throughput, low delay paths in 802.11 mesh networks. ELP combines three different mechanisms to accurately determine the expected link performance. Link quality information is combined with cross-layered link interference estimation to select optimal paths.

Routing metric of interference-aware link quality: an improved ETX in wireless mesh networks
The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, 2014Abstract This article addresses the problem of route selection in wireless mesh networks (WMNs). The traditional routing metrics adopt packet delivery ratio (PDR) as a representative metric of wireless link quality assessment. However, PDR measured by the broadcast-based probe method is affected by the size, number and transmission rate of probe ...

Exploring the efficiency of image metric for assessing the visual quality of 3D mesh model
International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing, 2018Recent developments in 3D graphics technology have led to extensive processes on 3D meshes (e.g., compression, simplification, transmission and watermarking), these processes unavoidably cause the visual perceptual degradation of the 3D objects. The existing mesh visual quality evaluation metrics either require topology constrain or fail to reflect ...

Extension of a Mesh Quality Metric for Elements With a Curved Boundary Edge or Surface
Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, 2004The formulation of a local cell quality metric [Branets, L., and Carey, G. F., 2003, Proceedings of the 12th International Meshing Roundtable, Santa Fe, NM, pp. 371–378;Engineering with Computers (in press)] for standard elements defined by affine maps is extended here to the case of elements with quadratically curved boundaries.

Three-dimensional mesh quality metric with reference based on a support vector regression model
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2018Three-dimensional (3-D) meshing has become a commonly used tool in several computer vision applications. As the performance of these applications depends highly on the quality of the meshes, several methods have been proposed in the literature to quantify mesh quality. We propose a 3-D mesh quality measure based on the fusion of some selected features.
