Influence of mesh and combustion parameters on a spark ignition engine CFD simulation [PDF]
In the current paper, a CFD simulation study on a pent-roof, spark ignition engine was performed. The scope was to analyze the basic parameters that influence the performances of the simulation: mesh configuration, mesh refinement, turbulence model, and ...

Multiblock Mesh Refinement by Adding Mesh Singularities [PDF]
Several templates for 2D and 3D structured mesh refinement are presented. The templates have the property that the minimum number of irregular points or edges (mesh singularities) are added. For a given set of external division numbers a variety of interior meshes can be generated.

Effect of Mesh Shape and Turbulence Model on Aerodynamic Performance at NACA 4415 [PDF]
This study uses three turbulence model variations, i.e., S - A, k - ε, and k – ω turbulence models. In addition, there are two variations of cell shape and three variations of cell number. The number of cells is 500, 5000, 50000, and 100000. Verification

Kinetic mesh refinement in 2D [PDF]
We provide a kinetic data structure (KDS) to the planar kinetic mesh refinement problem, which concerns computation of meshes of continuously moving points. Our KDS computes the Delaunay triangulation of a size-optimal well-spaced superset of a set of moving points with algebraic trajectories of constant degree.

Progressive mesh-based motion estimation using partial refinement [PDF]
A technique for performing progressive mesh-based motion estimation in a layered fashion is presented. Motion compensation based on image warping provides a block prediction free of block artifacts.

An ultralight geometry processing library for parallel mesh refinement
In applications such as parallel mesh refinement, it remains a challenging issue to ensure the refined surface respects the original Computer-Aided Design (CAD) model accurately.

Extending the Building Cube Method to Curvilinear Mesh with Adaptive Mesh Refinement
Building Cube Method (BCM) adopts block-structured Cartesian mesh and finer resolution can be used where the flow contains detailed flow structures. This paper reports the recent progress in extending BCM to curvilinear body-fitted mesh with Adaptive ...

Rate-distortion performance of dual-layer motion compensation employing different mesh densities [PDF]
We describe a dual layer algorithm for mesh-based motion estimation. The proposed algorithm, employing meshes at different scales, aims to improve the rate-distortion performance at fixed bit rates.
