Parallel smoothing of quad meshes [PDF]
For use in real-time applications, we present a fast algorithm for converting a quad mesh to a smooth, piecewise polynomial surface on the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The surface has well-defined normals everywhere and closely mimics the shape of Catmull–Clark subdivision surfaces.

An Image-Based Double-Smoothing Cohesive Finite Element Framework for Particle-Reinforced Materials
In order to simulate the fracture process of particle-reinforced materials on the micro-scale, an image-based double-smoothing cohesive finite element framework is proposed in the present paper.

Shrinking tube mesh: combined mesh generation and smoothing for pathologic vessels
We present a mesh generation algorithm which is able to produce smooth meshes from point clouds derived from histological slices. In this work, the shrinking tube mesh generation is used on histologic images depicting pathologic vessels.

An efficient method to improve the quality of tetrahedron mesh with MFRC
In this paper, we proposed a novel operation to reconstruction tetrahedrons within a certain region, which we call MFRC (Multi-face reconstruction). During the existing tetrahedral mesh improvement methods, the flip operation is one of the very important

An Accurate Approximation of the Two-Phase Stefan Problem with Coefficient Smoothing
In this work, we consider the heat transfer problems with phase change. The mathematical model is described through a two-phase Stefan problem and defined in the whole domain that contains frozen and thawed subdomains.
