Influence of Oil Injection Lubrication Parameters of High-Speed Internal Meshing Gear Based on the Computational Fluid Dynamics

open access: yesLubricants
High-speed gears are crucial transmission components found in airplanes and other systems, and they are maintained primarily through oil injection. However, due to their high operating speeds and the influence of oil injection settings, gear surface ...

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed

Meniscus‐Guided Soft‐Lithographic Assembly of Grid‐Type Molecular Martensite Films for Single‐Crystal‐Like Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A meniscus‐guided microtransfer molding strategy enables scalable fabrication of grid‐type molecular martensite films with b‐axis‐correlated preferential texture. Sequential growth across microchannel intersections creates structurally continuous grids and robust thermoelastic actuation (∼11% strain, > 50 cycles, maximum force density: 7.1 × 109 N m−3).

Sulfur‐Free Ultrahigh‐Refractive‐Index Polymers Enabled by Densely Packed Oxygen‐Bridged Dibenzofuran‐Cardo Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new class of sulfur‐free, oxygen‐bridged dibenzofuran‐based polymers is developed for ultrahigh‐refractive‐index applications. The rigid π‐extended architecture and enhanced molecular polarizability enable exceptional optical performance, combining refractive indices up to 1.848 with high Abbe numbers and full visible transparency. This work offers a

Calculation and Research of Transmission Efficiency of Gear with Addendum Modification based on Roll-off Angle

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
Based on the power method, the roll-off angle is introduced to measure the position of meshing point, and the function relation formula between the modification coefficient and meshing efficiency is derived. The calculation formulation of modification ...

Efficient and Feature-Preserving Triangular Mesh Decimation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Most of the existing algorithms for decimation of triangular meshes perform poorly at very low levels of detail. We propose a new automatic method for the decimation of triangular meshes, which performs better as compared to the notable existing algorithms at low levels of detail, preserves visually important parts of the mesh and thus keeps the ...

An Edible Chitosan‐Based Acoustic Sensor for Sound‐Responsive Actuation in Edible Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an edible acoustic sensor for robotic food and edible robotics. Built from a chitosan piezoelectric film between gold electrodes, the sensor enables acoustic communication through ON/OFF keying. Integrated into an edible robot with pneumatically actuated arms and neck, it responds to high‐frequency tones.
