Meshless analysis of high-speed impact
Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics, 2005The governing equations for rate-independent large strain plasticity are formulated in the framework of meshless method. The numerical procedures, including return mapping algorithm, to obtain the solutions of boundary value problems in computational plasticity are outlined. The large strain plastic response of materials under high-speed impact/contact

Analysis of Curve Reconstruction by Meshless Parameterization
Numerical Algorithms, 2003A method called meshless parameterization is proposed for curve reconstruction. It is based on mapping the points into the real axis, by solving a sparse linear system, and ordering them. Sufficient discrete conditions on the samples points are derived ensuring that the points are ordered correctly.

Meshless Analysis of Ductile Failure
Volume 3: Design and Analysis, 2011We study ductile fracture using Reproducing Kernel Particle Interpolation and the Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) model. The meshless simulations are compared with the available experimental results and previous finite element simulations for crack propagation.

Stochastic Meshless Analysis of Elastic-Plastic Cracked Structures
New and Emerging Computational Methods: Applications to Fracture, Damage, and Reliability, 2002This paper presents a stochastic mesh-free method for probabilistic fracture-mechanics analysis of nonlinear cracked structures. The method involves enriched element-free Galerkin formulation for calculating the J-integral; statistical models of uncertainties in load, material properties, and crack geometry; and the first-order reliability method (FORM)

A Stable Meshless Method for Electromagnetic Analysis
2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS), 2019The major problem in applying a meshless (RPIM) method is that when a large number of sampling nodes is used, the condition number of the moment matrix increases, and numerical solution becomes unstable due to the required inversion of the matrix. To address the problem, in this paper, with the radial point interpolation meshless (RPIM) method as an ...

A Meshless Grain Element for Micromechanical Analysis
46th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics and Materials Conference, 2005This study concerns the development of a 2-D meshless grain element for elastic deformation and intergranular damage initiation and propagation in polycrystalline fcc metals under static loading. A nonlinear constitutive model known as the cohesive zone model is employed to represent the inelastic interaction between the grain boundaries; thus ...

A meshless method and stability analysis for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation
Waves in Random and Complex Media, 2017In this paper, the non-linear Schrodinger (NLS) equation was solved by a meshless method based on the moving least-squares approximation. Single-soliton solution and interaction of two colliding solitons were studied to validate the accuracy of the proposed method.
