Meshless Analysis of Ductile Failure

open access: yesComputer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, 2008
We study ductile fracture using Reproducing Kernel Particle Interpolation and the Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) model. The meshless simulations are compared with the available experimental results and previous finite element simulations for crack propagation.

Meshless Analysis of a box culvert resting on Modified Vlasov Foundation [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering, 2023
In this paper, we compare computational design of box culverts using Kleinlogel’s formulas and three-dimensional models based on Winkler and Modified Vlasov Foundation (MVF) by Radial Point Interpolation method (RPIM) . In order to extend the RPIM to the

Localized boundary-domain integral formulations for problems with variable coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Specially constructed localized parametrixes are used in this paper instead of a fundamental solution to reduce a boundary value problem with variable coefficients to a localized boundary-domain integral or integro-differential equation (LBDIE or LBDIDE).

Enhancing oil-water flow simulation in shale reservoirs with fractal theory and meshless method

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2023
Introduction: Simulating oil and water flow in shale reservoirs is challenging due to heterogeneity caused by fractures. Conventional grid-based methods often have convergence issues. We propose a new approach using fractal theory and meshless methods to

Error Analysis of Nodal Meshless Methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
There are many application papers that solve elliptic boundary value problems by meshless methods, and they use various forms of generalized stiffness matrices that approximate derivatives of functions from values at scattered nodes $x_1,\ldots,x_M\in Ω\subset\R^d$.

Solid Model Generation for Digitized Organic Bodies via T-Splines

open access: yesHeritage, 2020
This paper presents a workflow for B-rep solid model generation of organic objects using T-splines constructed with quad-meshes. The aim is the creation of geometrically and topologically consistent B-rep solid models of heritage objects featuring ...

Laminated Beam Analysis by Polynomial, rigonometric, Exponential and Zig-Zag Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A number of refined beam theories are discussed in this paper. These theories were obtained by expanding the unknown displacement variables over the beam section axes by adopting Taylor's polynomials, trigonometric series, exponential, hyperbolic and zig ...

A graphics processing unit-accelerated meshless method for two-dimensional compressible flows

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2017
A graphics processing unit (GPU) -accelerated meshless method is presented for solving two-dimensional compressible flows over aerodynamic bodies. The Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) Fortran programming model is employed to port the meshless ...

Refined Meshless Local Strong Form solution of Cauchy-Navier equation on an irregular domain

open access: yes, 2019
This paper considers a numerical solution of a linear elasticity problem, namely the Cauchy-Navier equation, using a strong form method based on a local Weighted Least Squares (WLS) approximation.
