Characterizing soil properties by the meshless local Petrov-Galerkin method
Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, 2007This study presents a preliminary development of a direct back analysis procedure by the meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method and its application to characterize soil properties using in-situ test results. As compared to a direct back analysis based on the finite element method (FEM), it is intended to show that doing a direct back analysis by ...

A MESHLESS LOCAL PETROV–GALERKIN METHOD FOR ELASTO-PLASTIC PROBLEMS
2007A meshless local Petrov-Galerkin method (MLPG) is presented for solving the elasto-plasticityprobleminthepaper.Itisatrulymeshlessmethodusingthemov- ing least square (MLS) approximation as a trial function and the MLS weighted function as a test function in the weighted residual method. The incremental tangent stiffness method is applied in computation.

Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin Method for Heat Transfer Analysis
Volume 8A: Heat Transfer and Thermal Engineering, 2013A meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method is proposed to obtain the numerical solution of nonlinear heat transfer problems. The moving least squares scheme is generalized, to construct the field variable and its derivative continuously over the entire domain. The essential boundary conditions are enforced by the direct scheme.

A simple and efficient local Petrov-Galerkin meshless method and its application
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2014In the MLPG method of this paper, only the boundary integrations over local subdomains is involved, which make the MLPG method is very easy to carry out because the local sub-domains are chosen in MLPG method as simple circular or rectangular ranges. In order to simplify the MLPG method, the radius of local sub-domains has been adjusted for the nodes ...

Application of the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin Method for Subsoil Settlement Analysis
Advanced Materials Research, 2014The paper deals with use of the meshless method for soil stress-deformation analysis. There are many formulations of the meshless methods. The article presents the Meshless Local Petrov-Galerkin method (MLPG) local weak formulation of the equilibrium equations. The main difference between meshless methods and the conventional finite element method (FEM)

Global-local Petrov-Galerkin formulations in the Meshless Finite Difference Method
2010The paper presents the recent developments in both the Local Petrov- Galerkin (LPG) formulations of the boundary value problems of mechanics, and the Meshless Finite Difference Method MFDM of numerical analysis. The MLPG formulations use the well-known concept of the Petrov-Galerkin weak approach, where the test function may be different from the trial

On the multipoint meshless FD method using the local Petrov-Galerkin formulation
2012Discussed is here the multipoint meshless finite difference method (MMFDM) following the original Collatz multipoint concept, and the essential ideas of the meshless FDM. The Collatz approach was based on interpolation, regular meshes and the local formulation of b.v. problems.
