Quadrature for meshless methods
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2008AbstractIn this paper we discuss quadrature schemes for meshless methods. We consider the Neumann problem and derive an estimate for the energy norm error between the exact solution, u, and the quadrature approximate solution, u, in terms of a parameter, h, associated with the family of approximation spaces, and quantities η, τ, and ε that measure the ...

A truly meshless pre- and post-processor for meshless analysis methods
Advances in Engineering Software, 2007Abstract In recent years, meshless methods have been developed to eliminate the known drawbacks in finite element methods. Generating the input file for a meshless method and interpreting the output obtained can be difficult without graphical pre-processing and post-processing support.

Meshless Methods in Potential Inverse Electrocardiography
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006Potential inverse electrocardiography (PIE) is a method for reconstruction of epicardial potentials from measured body surface electrocardiograms and heart-torso geometry. The method of choice for computing epicardial potentials has been either the boundary element method (BEM) or the finite element method (FEM).

Optimised meshless method for acoustics
1999Summary: An element-free Galerkin method is formulated for Helmholtz problem. It is based on a moving least squares method. We show that it is possible to determine the speed of propagation of numerical wave and to tune the parameters of the method in order to minimize the dispersion.

A meshless method for unbounded acoustic problems
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2016In this paper an effective meshless method is proposed to solve time-harmonic acoustic problems defined on unbounded domains. To this end, the near field is discretized by a set of nodes and the far field effect is taken into account by considering radiative boundary conditions.

MESHLESS FINITE VOLUME METHOD WITH SMOOTHING
International Journal of Computational Methods, 2014Starting from the integral forms of the equilibrium condition and the constitutive law over the small volumes centered at the nodes, this study approximates stresses and displacements independently by means of the meshless approximation. By interpreting the meshless approximation from a new perspective, the procedure does not need to differentiate the ...

Least‐squares collocation meshless method
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2001AbstractA finite point method, least‐squares collocation meshless method, is proposed. Except for the collocation points which are used to construct the trial functions, a number of auxiliary points are also adopted. Unlike the direct collocation method, the equilibrium conditions are satisfied not only at the collocation points but also at the ...
