Mesoporous gold sponge may be prepared by the removal of aluminium from AuAl2 by an alkaline leach. The resulting material has nanoscale pores and channels, with a high specific surface area that can be exploited in electrochemical applications. For example, the material may serve as the basis of a more sensitive capacitive sensor or biosensor, as an

Chitosan scaffolds with mesoporous hydroxyapatite and mesoporous bioactive glass
AbstractBone regeneration is one of the most well-known fields in tissue regeneration. The major focus concerns polymeric/ceramic composite scaffolds. In this work, several composite scaffolds based on chitosan (CH), with low and high molecular weights, and different concentrations of ceramics like mesoporous bioactive glass (MBG), mesoporous ...

Amorphous mesoporous GeOx anode for Na-ion batteries with high capacity and long lifespan [PDF]
It is recently demonstrated that amorphous Ge anode shows higher reversible Na-ion storage capacity (590 mA h g−1) than crystallized Ge anode (369 mA h g−1).

Monodispersed mesoporous silica spheres with various mesopore symmetries
Monodispersed mesoporous silica spheres (MMSS) with different mesopore symmetries, such as hexagonal, cubic, or the mixture of hexagonal/cubic, are synthesized changing synthesis conditions. It seems that the direction of mesopores is retained through the particle in MMSS with cubic symmetry.

Molecularly Imprinted Mesoporous Organosilica
We have prepared molecularly imprinted mesoporous organosilica (MIMO) using a semicovalent imprinting technique. A thermally reversible covalent bond was used to link a bisphenol A (BPA) imprint molecule to a functional alkoxysilane monomer at two points to generate a covalently bound imprint precursor.
