Mesoporous Carbon for Energy

2015
Ordered mesoporous carbons (OMCs) are of great interest in energy-related research and applications, partly due to their high surface areas, uniform pore channels, and narrow pore size distributions. During the past decades, a number of breakthroughs for the synthesis of OMCs, including hard templating methods and soft templating strategies, have been ...

Preparation of Mesoporous SiCBN Ceramic Templated by Mesoporous Carbon

Journal of the Korean Ceramic Society, 2007
Well-ordered mesoporous SiCBN ceramics have been successfully synthesized by infiltrating a polymeric precursor, which was prepared from borazine and 2,4,6-trimethyl-2,4,6-trivinylcyclotrisilazane via a hydroboration reaction, into a mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) as a hard template.

Mesoporous Oxides via Carbonates

Science, 2013
Materials Science Mesoporous oxide materials have potential applications in light harvesting and catalysis and as electrode materials. Thin films of these materials are most often formed through a soft-templating process in which a precursor gel is patterned by nanoscale micelles that form from diblock copolymers during solvent evaporates.

Synthesis of wrinkled mesoporous carbon

Materials Letters, 2017
Abstract Wrinkled mesoporous silica was used as a template for the synthesis of carbon with the same morphology and pore structure. The resulting wrinkled mesoporous carbon not only maintains the unique conical pore structure radiating from the core to the outside surface but also exhibits an increased surface area relative to silica.

Hydrogen adsorption in mesoporous carbons

Applied Physics Letters, 2004
The hydrogen adsorption of mesoporous carbon materials with different mesostructures, surface areas, and pore volumes has been investigated. Experimental results indicate that the hydrogen adsorption capacities are dominantly related to their surface areas.

Preparation of model mesoporous carbons

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1988
The objective of this work was to prepare mesoporous carbon solids made of monosized spherical particles, produced from poly(acrylonitrile)(PAN) precursors, after oxidation in air and subsequent carbonization under an inert atmosphere. The precursors were obtained from PAN latices by slow drying in air.

Aminated hydrophilic ordered mesoporous carbons

Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2007
This paper describes a single step procedure by which primary amine groups are anchored onto ordered mesoporous carbon in a one step reaction. Ordered carbon materials with functional groups residing at the pore surface are prepared using SBA-15 silica as template in combination with hydrothermal carbonisation at mild temperatures (180 °C).

Mesoporous carbon nitrides: synthesis, functionalization, and applications

Chemical Society Reviews, 2017
Mesoporous carbon nitrides (MCNs) with large surface areas and tuneable pore diameters are unique semiconducting materials and exhibit excellent physicochemical properties, which promote their application in diverse fields including photocatalysis, sensing, and energy storage and conversion.
