Mesoporous Oxides via Carbonates
Science, 2013Materials Science Mesoporous oxide materials have potential applications in light harvesting and catalysis and as electrode materials. Thin films of these materials are most often formed through a soft-templating process in which a precursor gel is patterned by nanoscale micelles that form from diblock copolymers during solvent evaporates.

Surface chemistry of carbon-templated mesoporous aluminas
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2009Using infrared spectroscopy, a comparative investigation was carried out of the surface properties of mesoporous aluminas prepared by the carbon templating route and of a commercial alumina PURAL SB. In the hydroxylated state the mesoporous materials bear surface OH groups terminally bonded to an octahedral Al3+ ion, which has basic properties.

Phosphorylated mesoporous carbon as a solid acid catalyst
Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2011Mesoporous carbon catalyst supports are attractive due to their wide chemical stability while potentially increasing mass-transport through and providing a path for larger molecules to access catalytic sites. Herein we report the synthesis of a phosphorylated mesoporous carbon solid-acid catalyst characterized by NH(3)-TPD and isopropanol dehydration.
