Scalable Wheat Bran‐Algae Composites for Edible Electronics with Spray‐Coated Food‐Grade Conductive Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A fully edible wheat bran–algae substrate is fabricated through scalable mould‐compression and spray‐coating, enabling robust, food‐grade platforms for sustainable electronics. A chitosan barrier improves water resistance and ink compatibility, while activated‐carbon conductive films form uniform electrodes with Ohmic behaviour.

Wide‐Swath Satellite Altimetry Data Improves Modeled Mesoscale and Submesoscale Dynamics in a Western Boundary Current

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Ocean state estimates that represent mesoscale and submesoscale dynamics are crucial for climate research and ocean forecasting. Accurate submesoscale representation in ocean models is a current challenge due to rapidly evolving flow and lack of ...

Effects of diabatic heating on the ageostrophic circulation of an upper tropospheric jet streak [PDF]

open access: yes
Interaction between the mass circulation within a mesoscale convective complex (MCC) and a direct mass circulation in the entrance region of an upper tropospheric polar jet streak was examined within the isentropic structure to investigate mechanisms ...

Material Strategies for Stimulation and Recording in Neural Biocomputing Platforms

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Material strategies enabling stimulation and recording are central to neural biocomputing systems. This review examines how electronic materials govern the encoding of inputs and decoding of outputs in living neural networks. Advances in electrical, optical, and multimodal interfaces highlight emerging design principles for biocomputing platforms ...

Integrated analysis of pore size, shape, and position on mesoscale compressive strength of cementitious materials: Numerical modelling and statistical regression

open access: yesStudia Geotechnica et Mechanica
Cement-based materials often suffer reduced compressive strength due to internal porosity, yet the specific roles of pore size, shape, and spatial distribution remain inadequately quantified.

Assessing Mesoscale Heterogeneities in Hard Carbon Electrodes Through Deep Learning‐Assisted FIB‐SEM Characterization, Manufacturing and Electrochemical Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A combination of discrete and finite element method models for the current collector deformation and electrochemical performance analysis, respectively. The models are calibrated and validated with electrochemical and imaging data of hard carbon electrodes. These electrodes were manufactured with different parameters (slurry solid contents of 35 and 40

Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...
