P. doncitus sp. n. is described after 3 deutonymphs found under elytrae of Silpha carinala Ilbst. From closely related species differs by the absence of dark stripe on the sternal shield, expanded setae of the grathsome and II and III coxae. Type material is deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (Kiev).

Phytoseiid Mites (Acari: Mesostigmata) of the Azores Islands

The fauna of phytoseiid mites (Phytoseiidae) is still scarcely known in the Azores archipelago. A survey was conducted in the islands of Pico, Faial and Flores where phytoseiid mites were collected from native, cultivated and invasive plants. Twenty-two species were collected, nine of which represent new records for the Azores.

Biogeographic distribution of the Phytoseiidae 'Acari: Mesostigmata

More than 1982 species in 90 genera were included in an analysis of the biogeography of the Phytoseiidae, a family of predatory mites. Seven biogeographic regions were taken into account: Nearctic, Neotropical, Ethiopian, West Palaearctic, East Palaearctic, Oriental, and Australasian.
