Particle simulation of two dimensional dust crystal formation in a mesothermal plasma flow [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 1996
A two-dimensional simulation is used to study the crystallization of strongly coupled dusty plasmas. The dust grains are simulated as particles, while the electrons and ion solutions are obtained from fluid equations. We model gas discharges with dust particles confined in the sheath and at the sheath edge.

Gold deposit type and implication for exploration in the Abiete-Toko Gold District, South Cameroon: constraint from morphology and microchemistry of alluvial gold grains [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon, 2021
The morphology and quantitative chemical analyses of fifty alluvial gold grains from fourteen studied sites were used to constraint gold deposit type and its implications to exploration in the Abiete-Toko Gold District in South Cameroon. The main results

Mobilisation and Bioavailability of Arsenic Around Mesothermal Gold Deposits in a Semiarid Environment, Otago, New Zealand

open access: goldThe Scientific World Journal, 2002
Arsenopyrite (FeAsS) is the principal arsenic (As) mineral in mineralised mesothermal veins (typically 5,000 mg/kg As) in southeastern New Zealand. Groundwater in contact with arsenopyrite-bearing rocks has elevated As concentrations (up to 0.1 mg/l ...

Direct Preparation of Alginate Oligosaccharides from Brown Algae by an Algae-Decomposing Alginate Lyase AlyP18 from the Marine Bacterium Pseudoalteromonas agarivorans A3 [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Drugs
Alginate oligosaccharides (AOs), derived from alginate degradation, exhibit diverse biological activities and hold significant promise in various fields. The enzymatic preparation of AOs relies on alginate lyases, which offers distinct advantages.

Expression, biochemical and structural characterization of high-specific-activity β-amylase from Bacillus aryabhattai GEL-09 for application in starch hydrolysis [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2021
Background β-amylase (EC 3.2.1.2) is an exo-enzyme that shows high specificity for cleaving the α-1,4-glucosidic linkage of starch from the non-reducing end, thereby liberating maltose. In this study, we heterologously expressed and characterized a novel

Quantitative classification of soil nutrient regimes of some mesothermal Douglas-fir ecosystems

open access: green, 2010
Previous attempts to classify nutrient regimes of forest soil have been qualitative evaluations utilizing vegetation and/or physiographic site characteristics, morphological soil properties, and parent material. The major objective of this study was to describe and classify the soil nutrient regimes (SNR) of some Pseudotsuga menziesii ecosystems on ...

Mesothermal Gold Vein Mineralization of the Seolhwa Mine, Asan Mining District, Korea [PDF]

open access: bronzeResource Geology, 2009
AbstractGold mineralization of the Seolhwa mine occurs in a single stage of massive quartz veins which filled the north‐east‐trending fault shear zones in the Jurassic granitoid of 161 Ma within the Gyeonggi Massif. The vein quartz contains three main types of fluid inclusions at 25°C: (i) aqueous type I inclusions (0–15 wt.% NaCl) containing small ...
