NEW METALLOGENETIC CONCEPTS AND SUBSTAINABILITY PERSPECTIVES FO NON-ENERGY METALLIC MINERALS IN CENTRAL MACEDONIA, GREECE [PDF]
Greece’s geology favours a potent and dynamic use of mineral resources, which became a major incentive of the country’s mining business, and economic and social growth.

Abstract The central Inner Mongolia district forms one of the most important metallogenic provinces in China, because the district has been influenced by repeated distinct tectonomagmatic activity. The genetic relationships and spatial–temporal evolution of ancient tectonism and associated geologic structures and metallogeny are discussed in this ...

Optical Trajectory of the Insulator-to-metal Transition of Ultra-thin Gold Films [PDF]
We apply interferometric picometrology to measure the complex refractive index and dielectric properties of ultra-thin gold films as a continuous function of thickness from 0.2 nm to 10 nm deposited on thermal oxide on silicon. Three distinct regimes are found for the dielectric constant trajectory in the complex plane.

REE geochemistry of ore zones in the Archean auriferous schist belts of the eastern Dharwar Craton, south India [PDF]
The eastern Dharwar Craton of southern India includes at least three ~2700Ma supracrustal belts (schist belts) which have mesothermal, quartz-carbonate vein gold mineralization emplaced within the sheared metabasalts.

Formation of oreshoots in mesothermal gold-quartz vein deposits: examples from Queensland, Australia
Abstract Mesothermal gold/quartz vein deposits in granitoid-hosted and melange/sediment-hosted goldfields, contain oreshoots in areas of structural dilation. The environment of formation is localized at depths of 2–5 km in brittle to brittle-ductile shear zones which have stick-slip seismic movement.

Active geothermal systems with entrained seawater as analogues for low-sulphidation epithermal mineralization [PDF]
The paradigm for low-sulphidation (LS) volcanic-arc associated mineralization is the active geothermal systems located along the Taupo Volcanic Zone (e.g. Broadlands). However, this analogue is inapt where fluid salinities are consistently in excess of 3.

Mono-, bi- and tri- graphene layers deposited on conductive Au/Cr/SiO2/Si substrate studied by scanning tunnelling spectroscopy [PDF]
Graphene devices require electric contacts with metals, particularly with gold. Scanning tunneling spectroscopy studies of electron local density of states performed on mono-, bi- and tri- graphene layer deposited on metallic conductive Au/Cr/SiO2/Si substrate shows that gold substrate causes the Fermi level shift downwards which means that holes are ...
