Hybridity, Mestizaje, and Montubios in Ecuador [PDF]
The 'Montubio' ethnic identity has recently gained notoriety in Ecuador. This paper analyses how this identity emerges from and falls within Ecuador's construction of 'mestizaje' or mixture as a tool for national integration.
