A Systematic Survey of Slice-Resource Optimization in the 5G Core with New Insights from 2-Edge-Connected Subgraph Models [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Solutions in Engineering
Network slicing now delivers enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type communications (mMTC) over a common 5G core, yet deciding which slice requests to admit, where to place each ...

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

A Soft Matrix Microenvironment Promotes Laterally Spreading Tumors via Oxidative Phosphorylation‐Dependent Cell Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) are precancerous colorectal lesions characterized by a flat morphology. This study reveals a mechanochemical pathway through which a soft matrix microenvironment diminishes spatial constraints in intestinal adenomas. This process promotes deficiencies in tight junction proteins, mediated by the mechanoreceptor ADORA2B ...

Meta-heuristics and Artificial Intelligence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Meta-heuristics are generic search methods that are used to solve challenging combinatorial problems. We describe these methods and highlight their common features and differences by grouping them in two main kinds of approaches: Perturbative meta-heuristics that build new combinations by modifying existing combinations (such as, for example, genetic ...

INB3P: A Multi‐Modal and Interpretable Co‐Attention Framework Integrating Property‐Aware Explanations and Memory‐Bank Contrastive Fusion for Blood–Brain Barrier Penetrating Peptide Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
INB3P is a multimodal framework for blood–brain barrier‐penetrating peptide prediction under extreme data scarcity and class imbalance. By combining physicochemical‐guided augmentation, sequence–structure co‐attention, and imbalance‐aware optimization, it improves predictive performance and interpretability.

Case-based reasoning for meta-heuristics self-parameterization in a multi-agent scheduling system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A novel agent-based approach to Meta-Heuristics self-configuration is proposed in this work. Meta-heuristics are examples of algorithms where parameters need to be set up as efficient as possible in order to unsure its performance.
