Community structure and range shifts in Arctic marine fish under climate change

Arctic marine ecosystems are rapidly transforming due to climate change. Warming temperatures and shrinking sea ice are enabling boreal fish to expand northward, possibly disturbing cold‐adapted Arctic species assemblages. Tails of Biodiversity: Vertebrate Community Assessment in a Neotropical River Basin via eDNA Metabarcoding

This study used environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding to assess vertebrate biodiversity in headwater streams of the Rio Santo Antônio basin, southeastern Brazil, a tributary of the Rio Doce. A total of 119 vertebrate OTUs were identified, with oxidation–reduction potential emerging as the strongest environmental predictor of species richness.
