Multiple growth mechanisms of jadeite in Cuban metabasite
Samples of rocks reported in the literature to be jadeite jade from the subduction-zone complex of the Escambray Massif in central Cuba have been studied by optical and transmission electron microscopy, electron microprobe and hot-cathode cathodoluminescence (CL) microscopy.

Metabasite amphiboles of the Scottish Dalradian
Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, 1974Blue-green hornblendes are observed in metabasite assemblages throughout the chlorite, biotite and garnet zones of the southwest Scottish Highlands. Actinolites are common in more Mg-rich metabasites in these zones.
