METABOLIC CLEARANCE RATE, PRODUCTION RATE AND MAMMARY UPTAKE OF PROGESTERONE IN THE GOAT

Journal of Endocrinology, 1975
SUMMARY The dynamics of progesterone uptake and metabolism in the mammary gland of the goat have been measured and related to the metabolic clearance rate and production rate of the hormone determined by tracer kinetic techniques. The metabolic clearance rate of progesterone from blood was 3·13 ± 0·35 (s.e.m.) 1/min in ten experiments ...

Metabolic Clearance Rate of Progesterone in the Menstrual Cycle*

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1972
ABSTRACT The metabolic clearance rate (MCR) of progesterone by the continuous infusion method has been studied in a total of 21 women at various stages of the menstrual cycle and was found to be 2510 ± 135 (se) 1/day or 1512 ± 71.3 (se) 1/day/m2 which is greater than the MCR in males, ovariectomized females, and pregnant women.

METABOLIC CLEARANCE AND BLOOD PRODUCTION RATES OF ESTROGENS IN POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1971
Abstract With the use of the constant infusion technique, the mean metabolic clearance rate for estradiol in 5 women aged 70 to 88 was found to be 580 ± 30 L. per day per square meter. The mean metabolic clearance rate for estrone in 5 women aged 73 to 89 was 1,050 ± 70 L. per day per square meter. Both these represent a decrease of about 25 per cent

Control of Plasma Level of Testosterone: Metabolic Clearance Rate

1981
As previously mentioned, there is no evidence to suggest that testosterone in women is maintained at a certain plasma level by an autoregulatory control, as it is in men via the pituitary Leydig cell axis. Therefore, the plasma concentration of testosterone can fluctuate not only with alteration of the production rate, but also with changes in the ...
