Metabolic bulk volume predicts survival in a homogeneous cohort of stage II/III diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients undergoing R-CHOP treatment

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2023
PurposeAccurate risk stratification can improve lymphoma management, but current volumetric 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) indicators require time-consuming segmentation of all lesions in the body.

Prognostic Value of 18F–FDG–PET Parameters in Patients with Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Meta-Analysis and Review of Current Literature

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Many studies have suggested a prognostic value of one or several positron emission tomography (PET) parameters in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC).

Relationship of EGFR Mutation to Glucose Metabolic Activity and Asphericity of Metabolic Tumor Volume in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesNuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, 2020
EGFR-mutation (EGFR-mt) is a major oncogenic driver mutation in lung adenocarcinoma (ADC) and is more often observed in Asian population. In lung ADC, some radiomics parameters of FDG PET have been reported to be associated with EGFR-mt. Here, the associations between EGFR-mt and PET parameters, particularly asphericity (ASP), were evaluated in Asian ...

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Metabolic-immune axis in the tumor microenvironment: a new strategy for prognostic assessment and precision therapy in DLBCL and FL

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and follicular lymphoma exhibit complex metabolic and immune microenvironments that influence disease progression and treatment response.

The Role of the Metabolic Parameters of 18F-FDG PET/CT in Patients With Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2021
PurposeTo evaluate the role of the pre-treatment cervical and lymph node (LN) metabolic parameters of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) for locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) patients receiving ...

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Total Metabolic Tumor Volume and Tumor Dissemination Are Independent Prognostic Factors in Advanced Hodgkin Lymphoma

open access: yesBlood, 2021
Abstract Background: The AHL2011 study demonstrated that a PET-driven strategy allows to deescalate treatment to 4 x ABVD in PET negative patients after 2 cycles of escalated BEACOPP (BEACOPPesc) without loss of tumor control in patients with advanced Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) compared to a non PET-monitored treatment delivering 6 x ...

The Utility of F-FDG-PET–CT Metabolic Parameters in Evaluating the Primary Tumor Aggressiveness and Lymph Node Metastasis of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

open access: yesClinical Medicine Insights: Oncology
Background: Following changes in primary tumor (T) and lymph node (N) staging for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in the Eighth Edition AJCC Cancer Staging Manual , simplification of T staging has been proposed.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
