Human liver fluke Opisthorchis viverrini (Trematoda, Opisthorchiidae) in Central Myanmar: New records of adults and metacercariae identified by morphology and molecular analysis.

Acta Tropica, 2018
Opisthorchis-like metacercariae were found in cyprinoid fish, Puntius brevis, bought from markets in the Bago region, Central Myanmar. Adult worms recovered from experimentally-infected hamsters resembled Opisthorchis viverrini.

Infection Status with Zoonotic Trematode Metacercariae in Fish from Lao PDR.

Acta Tropica, 2019
Studies on the infection status with fishborne zoonotic trematode (FZT) metacercariae were reviewed with our data, which obtained from the fish survey in 8 administrative localities, i.e., Vientiane Municipality, Luang Prabang, Xieng Khouang, Vientiane ...

Parasitic infection of Cobitis elongatoides Băcescu & Mayer, 1969 by zoonotic metacercariae Clinostomum complanatum (Rudolphi, 1814).

Journal of Fish Diseases, 2019
An infection of zoonotic Clinostomum complanatum metacercariae with potential human transmission was recorded close to fish farms in the Tisa River Basin of Slovakia and Ukraine.

Some Lecithodendriid Metacercariae from Indiana and Michigan

The Journal of Parasitology, 1960
In a review article on arthropods as intermediate hosts of worm parasites, M. C. Hall (1929) listed six members of the trematode family Lecithodendriidae as having their metacercarial stage in various aquatic insects, including members of the orders Diptera, Odonata, Plecoptera, Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera, and Coleoptera. Since that time, Brown (1933),

Isolation of Fasciola hepatica metacercariae by density gradients

Veterinary Parasitology, 1985
Fasciola hepatica metacercariae were purified in high yield, removing contaminating cyst walls and plant material by step gradients consisting of 10 ml of 60% Percoll (density = 1.08 g ml-1) and 10 ml of 50% Metrizamide (density = 1.25 g ml-1). Greater than 90% of the metacercariae applied to the density gradients were recovered.

Investigation and research of Clonorchis sinensis metacercariae and Metorchis orientalis metacercariae infection in freshwater fishes in China from 2015 to 2017

Food Control, 2019
Background Clonorchiasis has been known for over 2300 years in China and it is considered as one of the most notorious food-borne parasitic diseases. In 2004, a total number of 15 million people were infected with Clonorchis sinensis around the world, in

Ecology of Free-Living Metacercariae (Trematoda)

2015
The presence of trematodes with a free-living metacercarial stage is a common feature of most habitats and includes important species such as Fasciola hepatica, Parorchis acanthus and Zygocotyle lunata. These trematodes encyst on the surface of an animal or plant that can act as a transport host, which form the diet of the target definitive host ...

Studies on the excystment of trematode metacercariae in vivo

Journal of Helminthology, 1974
AbstractMetacercariae of two species of trematode (Clinostomum tilapiae, Postodiplostomum nanum) excysted in the stomach of birds, while those of three species (Parorchis acanthus, Posthodiplostomum sp., Postliodiplostomoides leonensis) excysted in the duodenum. Differences were related to the structure of the cyst wall. All could excyst in birds which
