Dose–Response Effects of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation for Chronic Low Back Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 30, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a widely used non‐pharmacological method for pain management, though its effectiveness in individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP) is uncertain. A Meta‐Analysis on Stereotype Threat and Consumer‐Related Outcomes: Reconciling Evidence by Advancing Theory

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, Volume 43, Issue 2, Page 468-482, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This meta‐analysis examines whether stereotype threat (ST) influences consumer‐related outcomes—domains traditionally excluded from performance‐based ST research. Drawing on 247 effects from 83 experimental studies (N = 11,683), we found a marginal to small overall effect when comparing ST conditions to control groups.

An Empirical Assessment of the Cost of Dichotomization of the Outcome of Clinical Trials

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 3-5, February 2026.
ABSTRACT We have studied 21 435 unique randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR). Of these trials, 7224 (34%) have a continuous (numerical) outcome and 14 211 (66%) have a binary outcome. We find that trials with a binary outcome have larger sample sizes on average, but also larger standard errors and ...

Is UWLS Really Better for Medical Research?

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 3-5, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study evaluates the performance of the Unrestricted Weighted Least Squares (UWLS) estimator in meta‐analyses of medical research. Using a large‐scale simulation approach, it addresses the limitations of model selection criteria in small‐sample contexts.

Self‐Determination Theory and Workplace Outcomes: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesStress and Health, Volume 42, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Applications of self‐determination theory (SDT) in workplace contexts have demonstrable utility in identifying motivational determinants of adaptive workplace outcomes (e.g., job satisfaction, work engagement) implicated in employee well‐being and work productivity and effective stress management.
