Metal-free bioconjugation reactions
Drug Discovery Today: Technologies, 2013The recent strategy to apply chemical reactions to address fundamental biological questions has led to the emergence of entirely new conjugation reactions that are fast and irreversible, yet so mild and selective that they can be performed even in living cells or organisms.

Metal‐Free Deoxygenation of Carbohydrates
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2014AbstractThe conversion of readily available cellulosic biomass to valuable feedstocks and fuels is an attrative goal but a challenging transformation that requires the cleavage of multiple nonactivated CO bonds. Herein, the Lewis acid trispentafluorophenylborane (B(C6F5)3) is shown to catalyze the metal‐free hydrosilylative reduction of ...

Reversible, Metal-Free Hydrogen Activation
Science, 2006Although reversible covalent activation of molecular hydrogen (H 2 ) is a common reaction at transition metal centers, it has proven elusive in compounds of the lighter elements. We report that the compound (C 6 H 2 Me 3 ) 2

Simple models and corresponding experimental results are presented concerning single particle and collective motion in metal clusters. Relative abundances, photo-electron spectra, ionization potentials, polarizabilities, and plasma resonances are discussed in relation to the shell model, and suggestions are made for future experiments.

Metal-Free Trifluoromethylation of Indazoles
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018A simple and efficient tert-butyl hydroperoxide-mediated direct trifluoromethylation of indazoles using sodium trifluoromethanesulfinate has been developed under metal-free conditions. A library of trifluoromethylated products with broad functionalities has been synthesized with moderate to good yields.
